... well on the way to climate neutral
- Belchenland in the Black ForestThe regional tourism organisation between Feldberg and Belchen also concerns it’s self. With future tourism trends and climate change. As the first region in Germany, we have thought about climate change, our region and what we can do to protect the planet.
What can be done? What are we doing in the Tourism industry?
Our plan is to use as little energy as possible. The energy we do use should be from natural sources ( solar and wind etc.) or from regenerative sources such as wood produced from our own forests. Fossil fuels are avoided as far as possible!

In Geschwend there are farm houses that are 350 years old that are still in use today!
Why not travel with the train to the Black Forest? The Deutsche Bahn has a well founded tradition in protecting the environment. Since 1990 the amount of CO2 produced in comparison to the amount of rail usage has been reduced by 40%.

Your hosts can usually give you simple tips on being environmentally friendly ( for example saving electricity during your stay). We would be very happy if you would take these tips home with you. Under the categories “ climate neutral and environmentally friendly accommodation” we have compiled a list of accommodation and hosts who are considered to be active in these fields.
We’ll help you enjoy an active holiday with our "mobility tips in Belchenland" ( order it in brochure form ). There you’ll find tips on travel in the region whilst leaving your car behind.
Our guests can use bus and rail free of charge in the Black Forest with the ( KONUS Card ). Use it for a day trip to Belchen, Feldberg, to Basel or Freiburg, for instance.
